Citizen of the Year

The Shire of Quairading celebrated 2008 Australia Day with an Aussie breakfast, at the Quairading Bowling Club. A fantastic day was held with over 150 people attending, plus there was free entry to the Swimming Pool for the kids and a free sausage sizzle. After breakfast some played bowls and ignored the heat, while others stayed in the air conditioning and played bingo. Something for the whole community! During the function the winner of the Citizen of the Year was announced. This year there were eight nominations from community groups and organisations, a record.

This shows the commitment and health of the Quairading Community. Every nomination was worthy as the winner, but the 2007 Quairading Citizen of the Year was awarded to Vincent Hadlow who is well deserving and works tirelessly in the Community.
