Anzac Day 2020

The Shire of Quairading in conjunction with the Quairading Sub Branch of the RSL invite you to commemorate our Veterans at home by standing at the end of your driveway, or on your verandah from 5.55am to observe a minutes silence this ANZAC Day Saturday 25th April 2020.

Due to the global outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus), Australians are encouraged to privately commemorate Anzac Day, and are asked to unite and recognise past and current armed services personnel. When times are tough, Australians have always relied on the distinctive qualities of mateship, humour, ingenuity, courage and endurance to get us through.  Known as the ANZAC Spirit, these five qualities have defined Australians ever since the first troops landed on the beaches of Gallipoli in World War I.

This unique tribute, while social distancing restriction are in place, is planned to take place across the nation.

Tune in to ABC Radio Perth from 5.55am for a special short Driveways at Dawn service featuring the Ode, The Last Post and a minute of silence, where you can pay your respect from wherever you may be.

You can do this via the ABC Listen app, ANZAC Day 2020 app, or via 720AM on your radio.

Tag your dawn service commemorations on social media #DrivewayDawnService.
