ASSISTANT TOWN GARDENER

Applications are invited from interested people for the abovementioned position which operate from Council’s Works Depot in the Quairading townsite.

The successful applicants will work with a team that engages in a variety of tasks involving the general upkeep, improvement and maintenance of the Town’s Parks, Public areas and Facilities.

The position of Assistant Town Gardener is required to hold a C drivers license.

Caravan Park Caretaker

Casual Role

We are looking for a motivated, hard working person to join our friendly team at the Shire of Quairading. The successful candidate will need to live locally, due to some out of hours’ responsibilities of the role.

 Your responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Cleaning and caretaking of the Quairading Caravan Park, including on-call and out of hours’ responsibilities;
  • Responsibility for taking bookings and accepting fees;
  • Completion of grounds-keeping tasks, to ensure a high standard of appearance throughout the Park including maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees, painting, etc.;
  • Completion of maintenance tasks across all Park facilities, including maintenance of plant, equipment and the Park's overall features and aesthetic appearance;
  • Ensure the Park is compliant with all safety and statutory standards; and
  • Perform responsibilities as required including: opening/closing facilities; performing out of hours’ security checks; attending to out of hours’ emergencies and/or crisis situations.

What we're looking for

  • Preferably experience in accommodation park/maintenance;
  • Must have great people and communication skills, be trustworthy and honest;
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of OSH and responsibilities;
  • Must be fit and pass a Medical Examination; and
  • Availability to assist with on-call duties.

The position is offered on a casual short term basis with conditions of employment in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2010, Level 3.
