An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join the Shires of Cunderdin, Quairading, Tammin and Kellerberrin in conjunction with the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) to become an integral part of our organisations and communities.

Applicants will ideally have previous emergency management experience, with the relevant qualifications who will be committed to managing emergency planning, preparation, response and recovery for the four Shires.

 The successful applicant will work closely with DFES and local Volunteer Bushfire Brigades to ensure the implementation and delivery of the preparedness, prevention, response and recovery services and promote strategies for public compliance with the requirements of the Bush Fires Act 1954.

 Key components of this role include the provision of volunteer support, emergency management planning, supervision of financial reporting, professional and courteous community liaison, maintaining fire control, undertaking general inspection patrols, and attending to relevant administration requirements.

 The position is offered on a contract until April 2023 with conditions of employment in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2010. An attractive remuneration package is applicable, including a base salary of between $85,000 to $95,000, availability allowance of $11,250, 9.5% superannuation, commuter use of a vehicle, mobile phone, uniforms and professional development.  Subsidised housing is available in Quairading if required.
