Hosting an Event at a Shire Venue

Hosting an Event at a Shire Venue

Planning a community event, function, workshop, celebration or gathering? The Shire offers a range of venues and facilities available for hire to help make your event a success.

Whether you are organising a small community meeting, sporting event, private function or large public event, our team is here to assist you through the planning process and help ensure your event runs smoothly and safely.

Please complete the Event Application Form below to provide details about your proposed event. Once submitted, Shire staff will work with you to confirm venue availability, approvals, requirements and any additional permits that may be needed.

Event Planning Support

Depending on the type and size of your event, you may need to consider:

  • Venue booking requirements
  • Public liability insurance
  • Traffic management
  • Food vendors and temporary food permits
  • Waste management and cleaning
  • Noise considerations
  • Safety and emergency planning
  • Liquor licensing and permits

Early planning is encouraged, particularly for larger public events.

Liquor Licensing Requirements

If you are planning to sell, supply or allow the consumption of alcohol at your event, additional approvals may be required.

In many cases, organisers may need to obtain a liquor licence or permit through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. Information about liquor licensing requirements can be found on the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries website

In addition, a separate Shire approval is required for the consumption of liquor at any Shire-owned venue or facility.

Please complete the Shire’s Liquor Consumption Permit Form here and email to shire@quairading.wa.gov.au:
