The Quairading Town Hall will be open to the public today, 20th April, from 10am, due to the planned power outage.

Feel free to come down, charge devices and use the facilities and kitchen.

Sometimes our Bush Fire Brigade travels near and far to assist other Shires in battling challenging blazes.

A huge thank you to the volunteer members of our local Bush Fire Brigade, who recently travelled to the Shire of Waroona to assist in the Nanga Brook bush fire.

Bulk rubbish collections are back! The Shire wil

Bulk rubbish collections are back!

The Shire will be carrying out bulk rubbish and green waste verge collections this year.

Bulk rubbish collections, including white goods, household electrical, mattresses etc will commence on Monday 20th of May, 2024. Please ensure all items are placed on your verge by the day before.

Rubbish is only permitted to be placed on the verge for a maximum 7 days prior to collection week (you can commence placing rubbish out on 13th May, 2024).

Green waste collections will be later in the year.

Just over two weeks to go to get your applications in for Round 2 of the Shire Community & Business Grants Programs.

If you own a business or operate a non-for-profit incorporated group or club within the Quairading Shire, you may be eligible to fund a project or event you want to get off the ground.

We've made a few small changes to our grants programs, the main change being that we will now fund up to 50% of the total project cost. We will also now be running two rounds of grants per financial year.

So what's available now?
COMMUNITY GRANTS (SMALL GRANTS):
Round 2 | $500-$2500 | Open Now | Closes 30th April 2024

COMMUNITY GRANTS (MAJOR GRANTS):
$2500-$5000 | Open Now | Closes 30th April 2024

BUSINESS GRANTS:
Round 2 | Up to $5000 | Open Now | Closes 30th April 2024

We welcomed Mat and Tim from Skate Sculpture to present to a group of enthusiastic families for our first skate park workshop.

Workshop participants had the opportunity to have their say and put forward their ideas and designs on their ideal skate park space!

The results produced from this consultation will form the basis of a concept design and drawing which we can then use to investigate external funding. A second workshop to present this concept will be held later in the year.

It's imperative that major projects such as these start with community consultation, to ensure that it aligns with the wishes and requirements of our community.

Works will begin on the Town Hall car park on Mond

Works will begin on the Town Hall car park on Monday 15th April and take approximately 4 weeks.

Access to the Shire Admin Office will be reduced during this time and people will need to park over at the old Dental/Vet Office and walk over the road.

Walker St will be accessible as normal. Jennaberring Road will also still be open to traffic but will be signed to warn traffic on approach to the area.
